This is a fairly small update with mostly some quality-of-life changes.

This version includes the following changes:

  • Removed the "+ 4" for single stat rolls. It was originally + X to designate a missing stat, but since X is always 4 I changed it to +4 a while back. This was probably more confusing than just hammering home that you never simply use a single stat, so single stats are now just e.g. "DEX".
  • Added a Target DL to creature statblocks. This is the DL to hit the creature at short range while it is moving.
  • Changed the build time for contraptions. It now depends on your Labourer proficiency. Some contraption weights have also been changed.
  • Changed the bounds for melodies. A melody's effect now depends on how many of your results beat the listener's result. I also added the rule that creatures just roll half their Power, or half their Power +2 when hostile.
  • Merged two Explorer abilities (Animal Scouts and Beast Whispering) into one (just called Beast Whispering), removed Deep Focus (it hampers a GM's improvisation potential and can slow down the game), changed Home in the Wilds to focus more on the exploration bits and split off the resting-as-focus-action into a new ability called Tireless Wandering, and added a new ability called Self-Medication which allows an Explorer to use provisions to heal themself.
  • There are a few other small changes to other abilities.

Coming almost certainly in the next update:

  • Dungeon rules, similar to how the settlement exploration rules work now.
  • A ruins generator to help with exploration during travel (almost done).
  • Rules for magical corruption/disease/vampirism (almost done).
